Music Books
The teacher will choose the violin books and methods appropriate for each student based on the student’s age and experience. All students are required to bring the music books to all violin lessons. Due to copyright law, the teacher cannot make copies of materials and all music, methods, and materials must be purchased.
Missed Lessons Policy
An absence will be excused if given at least a 48-hour notice. With a 48-hour notice, the student’s excused lesson qualifies for a make-up lesson. The make-up lesson will be given at a mutually convenient time, and students will be allowed 2 make-up lessons due to excused absences per semester. An absence with less than 48-hour notice must be a serious illness or emergency in order to be excused and applicable for a make-up. The studio shall not assume any financial responsibility for student’s absences due to weather, sports, doctor’s appointments, failure to plan ahead, etc., without a 48-hour notice. There will be no refund in tuition for unexcused missed lessons. The studio shall, however, assume financial responsibility should the teacher become ill, be out of town, have a performance commitment, or cancel for any other reason. If the teacher’s performance schedule conflicts with lesson times, students will be credited the number of lessons missed. The student must call or email the teacher directly at (512) 879-8456 or marioaguilarviolin@yahoo.com for any cancellations.
Please be aware that the lesson/tuition fee serves to reserve the student’s time slot AND to pay for the lesson. Therefore, the lesson/tuition fee will still be charged should the student miss a lesson without giving notice. If a student has given 48-hour notice for an excused absence, the student won’t be charged but the teacher reserves the right to schedule lessons or make-ups during the excused/non-reserved time.
Discontinuing Lessons
If a student decides to discontinue lessons, notice must be given in writing at least 2 weeks before the end of the month and must finish the month. If notice isn't given by the last 2 weeks of the month, the student will be billed for another month.
Tardy Policy
Late students will only receive the remainder of their lesson time.
